Never tested? Start at Reason 1. Already on iron? Reason 4 is in your pill bottle.

LabCorp’s range for women aged 20 to 40. Over 40, it also starts at 30.
Got your last ferritin number? Keep it handy for Reason 1.
Your easy pace shouldn’t feel like a race. If your legs feel heavy from the first mile, your ferritin is worth checking. It’s the blood test that shows your stored iron.
Maybe nobody has ever tested it. Or maybe they have, and you sound like this commenter under one of our ads:
Facebook comment on a CAVAÉ ad, May 2026 (part of a longer comment)“Distance runner with ferritin at 17. Destroyed my last marathon - legs had nothing in the tank by mile 5. Upped my dose - no change.”
Here are 5 reasons a number like that stays stuck. Then a way to test the fix on your own blood work, inside 60 days.
Yes, we sell an iron strip, cavaé melt. You’ll meet it in Reason 4, with every ingredient on its label.
The 5 reasons, in 20 seconds
Until October 5, 2026, LabCorp’s range for women started at 15. A 17 came back in range, with no flag at all.
Now the range starts at 30. The same 17 comes back low.
It also depends on the lab. When we checked on October 7, 2026, Quest’s range for women in its East region still started at 16. So the same 17 can read normal at one lab and low at the other.
The American Society of Hematology’s 2026 guideline diagnoses iron deficiency at a ferritin of 30 or lower. That means a 17 counts as iron deficiency, even on a report that printed “normal.” With heavy periods or symptoms of low iron, the guideline says a line of 50 is appropriate.
Your target number is your doctor’s call, not ours. So ask for ferritin by name, and read the number yourself. In most states you can order the test online, with no doctor’s visit.
One buyer told us what happened when they finally asked:
CAVAÉ buyer survey, July 2026“I always had my serum iron levels checked and they looked fine but I finally insisted on having my ferritin number checked- it was 9. My iron saturation was 12%. It just confirmed what I had been arguing with my PCP about for years. Something is making me tired, making my runs excessively hard, and making my hair fall out. I am so excited to get started with these!”
That’s why your number can read low. Reasons 2 to 5 are why it stays there.

A 2019 review of athlete research reports iron deficiency in about 15% to 35% of female athletes, depending on the group studied. It singles out women and endurance athletes.
Periods cost iron every month. In a Swedish study of 476 women, the 1 in 10 with the heaviest periods lost 1.35 mg of iron a day or more. That’s nearly three times what the typical woman lost.
So you can eat well, train smart and still run low.
One runner wrote this under our ad, right after buying:
Facebook comment on a CAVAÉ ad, August 2026“I have never been at the iron I needed- even after 26 years of competitive running- this post made me buy this! I hope it works for me too!!🙏”
If you already upped your dose to make up for it, Reason 3 is for you.

When a number won’t move, the usual advice is to take more. Two very different trials put “more” to the test: one in hospital patients over 80, one in blood donors. Both got the same answer.
The first gave patients 15, 50 or 150 mg of iron a day for 60 days. Hemoglobin, a number on your blood count, rose about the same on all three: 1.3 points on 15 mg, 1.4 on 150.
The big dose cost more. 70% on 150 mg had stomach discomfort, against 20% on 15 mg. And 27% dropped out on the big dose, against 7% on the small one.
The second trialThe second trial, called STRIDE, ran for two years. After each blood donation, donors took 19 mg of iron a day for 60 days, or 38 mg, or a pill with no iron. Nobody knew which one they had.
Two years in, while still giving blood, the 19 mg group and the 38 mg group had rebuilt about the same amount of iron.
Many iron-only supplements have 65 mg. That’s 360% of the Daily Value. Our strip has 19 mg, the same daily amount as STRIDE’s lower dose.
The fine print on both trials: neither tested a strip or the iron in ours, and nobody in either took 65 mg.
The first trial was 90 hospital patients over 80 with anemia, and its 150 mg dose was a different iron from its 15 mg dose. STRIDE was blood donors, about half of them men. Only 46% of the STRIDE donors on pills finished the two years. Its authors say the results can’t be applied directly to iron deficiency anemia.
So if you upped your dose and nothing moved, a bigger dose may not be the fix. Two other things may be in the way: a pill your stomach fights, and what you take it with.
The first one is sitting in your pill bottle.
Ferrous sulfate is the standard iron pill. If your bottle says 325 mg of ferrous sulfate, that’s 65 mg of iron a pill. In 20 trials against a pill with nothing in it, ferrous sulfate carried about 2.3 times the odds of stomach and gut side effects. All but one of those trials were in healthy people without anemia.
About 7 in 10 of the buyers we asked had tried iron pills before ours. One Reddit commenter put it like this:
Reddit, r/Anemic, September 2026 (part of a longer comment)“i’ve bought iron like 4 different times and quit all of them. pills wreck me. feels like i got kicked in the stomach and then i’m constipated for days.”
A pill you stop taking can’t raise your number, and quitting one that hurts isn’t a willpower problem. So we sell iron as a strip instead.
| A typical iron pill | cavaé melt | |
|---|---|---|
| Iron a day | 65 mg in many iron-only supplements | 19 mg |
| The iron | Ferrous sulfate is the standard | Ferric saccharate |
| How you take it | Swallow it with water | Melts on your tongue |
| Your stomach | 2.3 times the odds of gut side effects in 20 trials of ferrous sulfate | Not tested in a trial yet. Your 60 days cover it. |
| On a run | A bottle at home | One sealed sachet in your belt |

It’s called cavaé melt: a thin raspberry strip with 19 mg of iron. Tear open the sachet, set the strip on your tongue and let it melt. Then swallow. No pill. No water.

Two people who took it:
Facebook comment on a CAVAÉ ad, August 2026“I did not experience any constipation like when you take iron pills. Absolutely zero stomach issues.”
CAVAÉ buyer survey, July 2026 (part of a longer answer)“it tastes good and doesn't upset my stomach like other iron supplements”
Your stomach gets the final say. If it says no, that’s what the 60-day guarantee is for.

After Reason 5: three people’s ferritin, before and after the strip. One didn’t move.

The same goes for tea, calcium and some medications. Leave a gap when you can.
You can take the strip any time of day, so pick a time away from your coffee.
Take levothyroxine (Synthroid) for your thyroid? Its label says not to take it within 4 hours of iron. For other prescriptions, ask your pharmacist about timing.
That’s all 5. Next, how to test the fix on your own blood work, inside 60 days.
When to test: while your order ships if you can, then around week six for a first look. If your first test says you don’t need iron, the 60 days cover that too.
This commenter went from 25 to 45 by day 30:
Facebook comment on a CAVAÉ ad, August 2026 (part of a longer comment)“I tested late June and my ferritin was at 25. Started the melts a week or two later (no other iron supplements in between) and at the 30 day mark tested again and my ferritin was 45. I think they offer a 60 day money back guarantee so I wanted to make sure to test before then to see if it was working”
This one moved from 6 to 14:
Reddit, r/Anemic, September 2026 (part of a longer comment)“I've been taking the Cavae strips as well as my husband. I just got my lab results and they weren't as good as I was hoping. I was at Ferritin of 6 in June and now (11 weeks later) am at 14.”
And this one saw no change:
Facebook comment on a CAVAÉ ad, July 2026“Interesting the results you and your friend had. My ferritin was at 7 at the end of 2025 and after 2 ish months of taking this, my current blood work showed zero change. 🤔😩”
All three are self-reported, not checked by us against a lab report.
Not every number moves. If yours doesn’t, our 60-day money-back guarantee covers you.
The guarantee, in plain words. If the strips aren’t right for you, for any reason, email support@shopcavae.com within 60 days of your order date. You get a full refund of the product price. No blood test or lab result needed. You’re covered even if you used the whole supply as directed.
If strips are left over, we may ask you to send them back, and you pay the return postage. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 7 to 10 business days.
60 days can show you
No iron can promise
Keep the same plan, or no plan, and hope the next number looks different.
Change one thing and measure it. One strip a day, a ferritin check around week six, and 60 days to get your money back.

Yes, it costs more than a drugstore pill. You’re paying for iron with no pill to swallow, and 60 days to check it on your own blood work.
Each card opens our product page, where you pick 1, 3 or 6 tins.
Those are one-time prices. Plans are on the next page, from $44.99 down to $29.99 a tin. You can skip, pause or cancel anytime.

See your doctor first if your ferritin is in single digits or your doctor wants you on an infusion. Same if a doctor found a cause of your low iron, like blood loss or a gut condition such as celiac disease.
Low ferritin and nobody has looked for why? Ask your doctor to find out.
If a doctor set your dose, ask your doctor before you switch. Pregnant or nursing? Ask your doctor first. Under 18, or told you have hemochromatosis or another kind of iron overload? Skip it.
Yes. Each strip has 240 mcg of folic acid, which the label counts as 400 mcg DFE of folate. It isn’t methylfolate. The CDC says people with MTHFR variants can process all types of folate, including folic acid.
Raspberry, sweetened with monk fruit and stevia. It melts on your tongue, so there’s nothing to wash down. If any iron flavor is too much for you, the 60-day guarantee covers it.
Only if you pick one. The button opens one-time prices, so nothing renews unless you choose a plan. Plans renew automatically, and you can skip, pause or cancel anytime.
Get a baseline while your order ships. Take one strip a day. Check again around week six. If your number moved and your stomach’s fine, keep going. If not, or your baseline says you don’t need iron, email us within 60 days of your order date for your money back.

Quotes are public comments under our ads, two Reddit comments and two buyer survey answers, copied word for word; some are parts of longer ones. No runner comment on this page is a result from our strip. Two runners had just bought it. Results and timing vary.
